A food relief agency for residents of Brookline, Needham, Newton, Waltham, Watertown and Wellesley.
We provide our communities consistent and inclusive access to healthy food, with dignity and kindness.
Our organization is a reliable source of fresh food, groceries and personal care items for thousands of people.
The extraordinary growth in need has pushed us to become a large year-round outdoor operation, yet we have retained the feeling of a small, vibrant volunteer community that works together to be sure that no one is worrying about food or foregoing food for other expenses.
Everyone should have enough food.
We Reached our Year End Fundraising Goal! Thank you for giving generously!!
Your incredible response to our year end campaign helped us provide groceries and holiday foods to 5,300 people in November and 4,800 people in December.
The number of families who visited Centre Street for groceries was high at the end of the year and we expect this level of need will continue in 2026. With your support we will continue to meet that need, while looking for ways that we can bring more food to families this year.
A client receiving groceries gasped when he saw bags brimming with fresh produce and sliced bread, dairy and more. “Is this all for me? I haven’t been able to bring this much food home to my kids for a while. We will have a great meal tonight. Thank you…please thank everyone who made this possible.”
Thank You To Our Thanksgiving Turkey Sponsor and Donors
We want to thank Creation Technologies for a generous donation which funded 200 turkeys for Centre Street families with children!
We also want to thank everyone who donated $25 or more so that we were able to purchase and distribute 500 turkeys and 400 roaster chickens in November. Our clients didn’t expect this and one father shook hands with all the volunteers when he received one, because he had already told his children they wouldn’t have a turkey for Thanksgiving. He said they were going to be “so happy.”
