Sarah Tardiff, Operations Coordinator
Sarah is a service day coordinator who works in partnership with staff and volunteers to make sure that all the different aspects of the operation are running smoothly. She is an onsite resource for volunteers who provides guidance and training for every job that is available. When you look for her on site you might just see a blur because she rarely stops moving.
Sarah has been a versatile and valuable member of the operation for four years, when she joined in a temporary role in April of 2020 to oversee the registration of new volunteers due to the pandemic related change in Centre Street’s distribution model. In three months she onboarded over 350 people into a new volunteer scheduling system; many of these volunteers continue to the present day. She also oversaw the creation of job descriptions, schedules and volunteer teams.
Sarah’s other part time work is as an independent personal trainer and fitness coach. Her background includes hospitality management in fine dining, which is a fast paced environment that is not unlike the demands she regularly faces during a Centre Street service day. Sarah received a BA in History from Union College and spent a semester abroad in Fiji, which she found rewarding but not likely to return to again.
When she is not working she spends time with her dog Maisie who she rescued from Last Hope K9; due to a recent move to a house on a large pond, she now often needs to rescue the ducks from Maisie who wants to play with them.
